The Home screen

Home shows your riders at the place in use and the state of their bus right now.

At the top:

  • a greeting (Good morning / Good afternoon / Good evening)
  • the place name – tap it to switch places or add one (see "Schools and workplaces")
  • the bell – opens Alerts; a number shows unread alerts

Pull the screen down to refresh it.

Rider cards

Each rider gets a card. What it shows depends on the rider's situation:

What you seeWhat it means
Live card with LiveA ride is on now and the bus has a GPS tracker. See below.
Waiting for confirmationThe place hasn't confirmed the rider yet. Tap Remind the school if it takes long, or Use a code if a family member already has this rider in their account (they then approve you). See "Riders".
One step left: where does name get on?The rider has no pickup stop. Tap Choose pickup stop. For a rider shared with you, only the parent account can choose the stop.
person wants to follow nameSomeone entered your rider's code. Tap Approve or Decline. Only approve people you know. See "Riders".
Next ride: day, timeNo ride right now. The card shows when the next ride starts.
Ride on now · this bus has no GPSA ride is on, but this bus has no tracker, so it can't be shown on the map.

When there are rides later today, they are listed under Later today with Live map opens time.

If you haven't joined a place yet, Home shows Your bus will show up here with Start — takes 2 minutes. If you have a place but no rider or no stop yet, Home shows the 3-step checklist. See "Getting started".

The live card

During a ride, the card follows the bus live. It shows:

  • a short line on top: The bus is on the way, A ride is on now, Finding the bus… or No live signal
  • the main status (see the table below)
  • bars that fill as the bus moves along the route, with the rider's stop marked
  • the rider's stop and how many stops away the bus is ("3 stops away")
  • See the bus on the map – opens the live map
Main statusMeaning
At your stop in ~5 minEstimated time until the bus reaches the rider's stop. "~" means it is an estimate.
The bus is at your stopThe bus is within about 150 m of the rider's stop.
The bus has passed your stopThe bus has gone past the rider's stop on this ride.
The bus hasn't set off yetThe bus has a live signal but hasn't been seen driving yet, for example it is parked before the ride.
The bus is on the moveThe bus is driving, but the app can't relate it to the rider's stop (for example no stop on this route).
The bus hasn't sent its position yetThe tracker hasn't sent a position. The bus appears as soon as it does.
Last seen time agoNo live signal for more than 2 minutes. The card shows the last known position.

How the estimate works

The app matches the bus position to the nearest stop on the route, adds up the distance of the remaining stops to the rider's stop, and divides it by the bus speed (at least 18 km/h is assumed in city traffic). It does not know about traffic jams or how long the bus waits at each stop, so treat it as a guide. The alert when the bus reaches the stop is more reliable.

When is a ride "on"?

The live map is open from 15 minutes before a route's ride time starts until 30 minutes after it ends, on the route's days. For example, for a route "Morning · 07:15 – 08:30" the map opens at 07:00 and closes at 09:00. The ride times come from the place's schedule.

While the map is open before or after the ride time itself, the card says so:

  • before the start: Ride starts at 16:00 · the map opened early
  • after the end: Ride time ended at 17:45 · the map is open until 18:15

Routes without a schedule can be followed at any time.

Only need a ride once?

At the bottom, Only need a ride once? opens the Book tab to book a vehicle without any setup.

Common questions

Why don't I see the bus on Home? Usually it is outside ride time; the card shows the next ride. Other reasons: the rider is waiting for confirmation, the rider has no pickup stop, or the bus has no GPS tracker.

Why does the time to my stop jump around? It is an estimate from distance and current speed. When the bus stops at lights or stops, the speed drops and the estimate changes.

Home shows "The bus hasn't set off yet" but the ride has started. The bus is sending its position but hasn't been seen moving yet. The status changes as soon as it drives. If it stays for long, call the driver from the live map.
