Live Log

The Log page lists all your vehicles in a single table, one row per vehicle, with the latest data reported by each GPS device: position, speed, ignition, power, fuel, and every other field your devices send. Rows update on their own as new data arrives, so there's no need to refresh the page.

It shows the same information as the Vehicle Details drawer on the Tracking page, but for your whole fleet at once, so you can compare vehicles, scan for problems, and export everything to Excel.

Only vehicles with a GPS device assigned are listed.

Access

The Log page appears under Monitoring in the sidebar, right below Tracking. You need both the tracking:view and tracking:details permissions to see it.

Toolbar

The toolbar above the table contains:

  • Search box: filters rows instantly by vehicle name, license plate, device name, device identifier (IMEI), or group
  • Filters button: opens the filter popover (see below)
  • Export: download the table as an Excel (.xlsx) file, or print it
  • Columns: choose which columns are shown

Filters

Click the Filters button to open a popover with the following options:

  • Device Status: filter by Online, Offline, or Unknown. Each option shows a live count in parentheses.
  • Vehicle Status: filter by the vehicle's operational status (Active, In Repair, Sold, etc.). Only the statuses your vehicles currently have are listed.
  • Group: filter by device group. Only appears when your fleet has groups assigned.
  • Sort by: sort rows by vehicle name or by last update time (most recent first). With "Last update" selected, rows reorder live as vehicles report.
  • Clear Filters: appears when any filter is active and resets them all at once.

An orange dot appears on the Filters button whenever any filter is active. Your filters are remembered in your browser the next time you open the page. They're separate from the filters on the Tracking page.

Export

The Export menu has two options:

  • Export: downloads an Excel file
  • Print: opens a print-friendly version of the table

Both include only the columns currently shown and every vehicle matching your search and filters, not just the rows you've scrolled to. In the Excel file, columns are grouped under Vehicle, Device, Sensors, and Position headings, and the vehicle name column stays frozen while you scroll sideways.

Columns

Click Columns to show or hide columns. The menu is divided into four sections:

SectionColumns
Vehicle InfoName, license plate, vehicle status, status reason, make, model, year, VIN, type, capacity, notes
Device InfoDevice name, identifier (IMEI), phone, contact, category, model, device status, group, expiration, server status, server last update
Sensor InfoTotal fuel
PositionEvery field NexaBus recognizes by name (see below)

A small set of columns is shown by default: vehicle name, license plate, device name, group, server status, total fuel, fix time, speed, ignition, power, and address. On mobile the default is shorter. Your column choices are remembered in your browser, separately for desktop and mobile.

The vehicle name column is always shown.

Position Fields

The Position section contains every device field that NexaBus gives a name to, in a fixed order. It covers:

  • Location: latitude, longitude, altitude, course, accuracy, address, geofences
  • Time: device time, fix time, server time
  • Movement: speed, ignition, motion, odometer, trip odometer, total distance, engine hours, driving time
  • Power: power (external voltage), battery, battery level, charging
  • Signal: satellites, HDOP/VDOP/PDOP, RSSI, GPS status, roaming, operator
  • Engine & OBD: RPM, throttle, coolant and engine temperature, OBD speed and odometer, fuel used, fuel consumption, diagnostic trouble codes
  • Inputs & outputs: digital inputs 1–4 and outputs 1–4
  • Sensors: temperatures 1–4, device temperature, humidity
  • Events & alarms: event, alarm, status code, armed, blocked, lock
  • Device info: firmware and hardware version, IP, driver ID, card, and more

Most devices only report some of these fields. A cell shows — when that vehicle's device doesn't send the field.

Raw device parameters without a name (such as io303) aren't included, because the same number can mean different things on different device models. If you need one of them, set it up as a sensor.

How Values Are Shown

Values are shown with units and labels rather than as raw numbers:

  • Speed in km/h, distances in km, altitude and accuracy in meters, voltages in volts, temperatures in °C, engine hours and driving time in hours and minutes
  • Course as a compass arrow with the heading in degrees, e.g. ↗ 45°
  • Dates and times in full date and time format
  • Server status as a badge: Online (green), Offline (red), or Unknown (gray)
  • Device status as a badge: Enabled (green) or Disabled (red)
  • Ignition as a badge: On (green) or Off (gray)
  • Motion as a badge: Yes (green) or No (gray)
  • Vehicle status with the same colored icon used in the Tracking page's vehicle list. A vehicle with no status set is shown as Active.
  • Vehicle type with its icon (bus, truck, car, etc.)
  • Geofences as geofence names. Stops are left out, even though they're also geofences on the GPS server. A geofence that exists on the GPS server but not in your account is shown by its ID, e.g. #691.
  • Alarm as translated alarm names (e.g. SOS, Overspeed), the same labels used in the Events Report

A few fields are worth knowing about:

  • Total Fuel: the combined reading in liters across the vehicle's calibrated fuel sensors, the same value as the fuel icon on the Tracking page. It shows — for vehicles without a fuel sensor, and N/A for vehicles that have one but haven't reported a reading yet.
  • Event: the raw event code sent by the device. For Teltonika devices this is the ID of the input that triggered the report (for example 0 for a regular periodic report). Its meaning depends on the device model, so it's shown as a number.
  • Status Code: a raw status code that some GPS protocols include with each report. It isn't related to the server, device, or vehicle status columns, and many devices don't send it.

Status Reason and Notes

The Status Reason and Notes columns can hold long text, so instead of showing it inline they show a chevron button. Click it to expand the row and read the full text underneath; click again to collapse it. You can have both open on the same row at once.

Pinning Rows

Each row has a pin button at the start. Click it to pin that vehicle to the top of the table. Pinned rows are highlighted and stay at the top however far you scroll, while still updating live. Click the pin again to unpin.

Pinned vehicles are remembered in your browser for your team. When a search or filter hides a pinned vehicle, it's hidden from the table too, and returns pinned once it matches again.

Scrolling

The table shows the first 50 vehicles and loads more as you scroll toward the bottom. Changing the search or a filter takes you back to the top.

Real-Time Updates

The Log page uses the same live connections as the Tracking page. Whenever a vehicle reports a new position, its whole row updates in place: position fields, fuel total, badges, and so on. Server status (Online/Offline/Unknown) changes are applied as soon as they happen.

Connections are opened when you enter the page and closed when you leave. There's no background polling.

Mobile

On mobile devices:

  • The table scrolls sideways to reveal more columns
  • The Filters, Export, and Columns buttons show icons only
  • A shorter set of columns is shown by default: vehicle name, server status, fix time, and speed
