Timeline Report
The Timeline Report shows one vehicle's days as strips, newest day on top. Each strip is split into colored blocks: when the vehicle was moving, stopped with the engine on, parked, or out of reach. Next to each day you see its moving time and mileage. Drag across the strips to look at any period in detail, even over several days.
Running the Report
- Open Reports and pick Timeline. Click the report name at the top to switch to another report at any time. Your vehicle and period are kept.
- Vehicle: pick one vehicle.
- Period: pick a preset or choose dates on the calendar. A report covers up to 31 days at a time.
- Hours shown: Full day, or 05:00–23:00 to leave out the night.
- Click Show report.
Days load one at a time and appear as they arrive (Loading day 4 of 14). Stop keeps what has loaded, and Load the rest carries on. A day that fails is marked couldn't load, with Retry.
Vehicle States
The legend under the strips shows the color of each state:
- Moving — the vehicle is in motion
- Stopped · engine on — standing still with the ignition on (also when the GPS has no fix while the engine runs)
- Parked — standing still with the ignition off
- Ignition off / no GPS — the device has no GPS fix and the ignition is off
- No data from device — no reports for a long stretch, so the device was probably offline
How states are worked out
- Moving or not: the device's driving signal if it has one, otherwise its motion sensor, otherwise the speed (above 3 km/h counts as moving).
- No GPS fix while standing: shown as Ignition off / no GPS with the ignition off, or Stopped with it on.
- Stopped or Parked: when standing with a good fix, the ignition decides — on is Stopped, off is Parked.
- No data: a silence of more than 6 hours between reports is shown as no data rather than assumed parked. While the vehicle was driving, even a 10-minute silence counts as no data, because a moving device reports every few seconds.
Not every device reports ignition. Without it, Stopped can't be told apart from Parked, and standing time shows as Parked.
Totals Cards
- Moving, Stopped and Parked — total time, each with its share of the tracked time
- Ignition off / no GPS and No data — when there was any
- Distance
- Max speed — with the day and time it was reached
Click the pin on a card to keep it first.
The Day Strips
- The right-hand column shows each day's moving time · km, or parked all day, no movement or no data.
- Today's strip ends at the current time.
- With three or more days, a Usual activity row at the top shows the hours this vehicle usually moves in the period (the share of days it was moving in each hour).
- Ctrl + scroll (or pinch) on a row zooms in on part of the day. Show all hours zooms back out.
Inspecting a Period
Drag across the rows to select a period. It can start in one day and end in another — drag past the end of a row to carry on into the next day. Drag the handles to adjust the start and end.
The Selected period panel then shows:
- The time spent Moving, Stopped, Parked and with no data in that period
- Mileage, Average speed and Maximum speed
From the panel:
- Open in Chart opens the Chart Report for the same vehicle and period.
- Replay on map opens the Replay for the same vehicle and period.
- Clear selection removes it.
On a Phone
- Press and hold a strip, then drag, to select a period. Tap a block to see its times.
- The selected period opens in a panel at the bottom that stays open while you keep using the strips.
- The ⋯ menu holds Print.
Printing
Print prints the strips as a picture, with the hours you are looking at and the legend.
No Data Found
If the report comes back empty, it shows No data found with a Try the previous day button. Check that the vehicle was active during the period and that its GPS device was online and reporting.
