Driver Safety Report

The Driver Safety Report shows how your vehicles were driven over a period. For each vehicle you get distance, engine hours, top speed, its Points (the device's eco score) and a count of each kind of violation. You can then look at every violation — with the driver, speed and place on the map — and at each driver's driving periods.

Running the Report

  1. Open Reports and pick Driver Safety. Click the report name at the top to switch to another report at any time. Your vehicles and period are kept.
  2. Vehicles: pick one or more vehicles.
  3. Groups (optional): ticking a group adds every vehicle in it, subgroups included.
  4. Period: pick a preset or choose dates on the calendar. A report covers up to 31 days at a time.
  5. Click Show report.

The report has three tabs: Summary, Violations and Driving Periods. The summary and violations appear first. Points are then calculated vehicle by vehicle (Calculating points · 2 of 8 vehicles), and driving periods load in the background (Loading driving periods…). If something can't be loaded, a note says so and offers Retry.

Totals Cards

  • Mileage — with the vehicle that drove the most
  • Engine Hours — with the average per vehicle
  • Max Speed — with the vehicle that reached it
  • Points — the average of the vehicles' Points, with its rating
  • One card per violation kind (Hard Acceleration, Hard Braking, Hard Cornering, High RPM, Overspeed, Idle) — with the vehicle that had the most

Click the pin on a card to keep it first. Points and Overspeed are pinned at the start.

Summary Tab

One row per vehicle:

  • Mileage, Engine Hours and Max Speed
  • Points — the device's own eco score, averaged over every position in the period, with a rating (Excellent / Good / Not Good / Bad / Very Bad), the same rating as on the Tracking page. It needs an Eco Score sensor set up for the vehicle (see Sensors); without one the cell stays empty.
  • Hard Acceleration / Hard Braking / Hard Cornering / High RPM / Overspeed / Idle — how many of each. Click a count to open the Violations tab showing only that vehicle and that kind.
  • Other sensors set up for the vehicle (for example Seatbelt or Headlights, when the device reports them) appear as extra columns.

Note: Points is the device's own score averaged over the period. It isn't calculated from the violation counts, so a vehicle can score well and still have some violations.

Violations Tab

Every harsh-driving violation in the period: hard acceleration, hard braking, hard cornering, high RPM, overspeed and idling.

  • Chips above the list show each violation kind with its count; click one to show only that kind.
  • Find vehicle or driver filters the list. With several vehicles, violations are grouped by vehicle.

Each violation shows:

  • Driver and Key Identifier — the driver whose key (RFID card or iButton) was read at the time. If no key was read, the vehicle's assigned driver from Drivers is shown, without a Key Identifier. While driving periods are still loading, the driver shows a small spinner.
  • Date/Time
  • Violation — its kind
  • Speed and Speed Tier — for overspeed, the speed and how far over the limit it was (1–5, 6–10 or 11+ km/h), when the device reports the limit
  • Duration — how long it lasted, when reported (mostly for idling)
  • Location — click Show address to look it up

Click the pin on a violation to see it on the map beside the list. Click another one to move the pin. Violations without a pin have no position.

Driving Periods Tab

Driving sessions grouped by driver rather than by vehicle, so you can see everything one driver did, whichever vehicles they used:

  • Driver and Key Identifier — found the same way as in the Violations tab
  • Vehicle
  • Subdivision — the vehicle's group
  • Movement From / Movement To — when the period started and ended
  • Duration and Mileage
  • Driving Info Source — where the driving data came from

Find driver or vehicle filters the list.

Columns

Each tab has its own Columns choice. Vehicle is always shown. Your choice is saved separately for desktop and phone.

On a Phone

  • Vehicles, violations and driving periods appear as cards.
  • Tap a violation to see it full screen on the map. Previous and Next move through the violations, and Back to violations returns to the list.
  • The ⋯ menu holds Export to Excel, Print and Schedule this report.

Export and Print

  • Export to Excel downloads one file with three sheets: Summary, Violations and Driving Periods.
  • Print opens a printable version of the Summary table.

Both wait until Points and driving periods have finished loading.

Scheduling

Click Schedule (on a phone, ⋯ → Schedule this report) to have this report emailed automatically. A panel opens over the report, filled in with the vehicles and groups on screen. Choose how often it repeats, the send time, start and end dates and the recipients, then click Create schedule. You stay on the report.

Each run emails one Excel file with the same three sheets. See Scheduled Reports for all the options.

Use Cases

  • Driver coaching: find drivers or vehicles with frequent harsh driving
  • Safety scoring: compare Points across vehicles to decide where to start
  • Incident review: look at a vehicle's violations at a given time, then check the driving periods to see who was driving
  • Accountability: attribute driving to a driver even without key readers, using the vehicle's assigned driver

No Data Found

If the report comes back empty, it shows No data found with a Try the previous day button. Check that:

  • The vehicles were active during the period
  • The right vehicles or groups are selected
  • The GPS devices are set up and reporting
  • For Points and sensor columns (Seatbelt, Headlights…), the sensor is set up for the vehicle under Sensors
