Driver Safety Report

The Driver Safety Report brings together vehicle activity, eco-driving violations, and driving periods to help you evaluate driving behavior over a selected time period. Use this to spot risky driving patterns, review specific violations, and see who was driving each vehicle and when.

Generating a Report

  1. Select Vehicles: Choose one or more vehicles from the dropdown
  2. Select Groups (Optional): Choose vehicle groups to include all vehicles in those groups
  3. Set Date Range: Select a predefined range (Today, Yesterday, This Week) or set custom dates
  4. Click Show to generate the report

The report is organized into three tabs: Summary, Violations, and Driving Periods.

Summary Tab

One row per vehicle, combining activity totals with violation counts:

  • Vehicle Name: The vehicle
  • Mileage: Total distance traveled (km)
  • Engine Hours: Total time the engine was running
  • Max Speed: Highest speed recorded (km/h)
  • Points: The device's own eco-score, averaged across every position recorded during the selected period, with a rating badge (Excellent / Good / Not Good / Bad / Very Bad) — the same rating shown on the Tracking page's status card. This requires an Eco Score sensor configured for the vehicle (see Sensors); without one, the column shows no value.
  • Hard Acceleration / Hard Braking / Hard Cornering / High RPM / Overspeed / Idle: Count of each violation type during the period

Note: Points reflects the device's own reported eco-score averaged over the period — it is not calculated from the violation counts shown alongside it. A vehicle can show a high score even if it had violations in the period, since the score and the violation counts measure different things.

If the vehicle has any other configured sensors (for example Seatbelt or Headlights, when the device reports that data over CAN), those appear as additional columns. These are only available on devices wired to report that data — otherwise the column is blank for that vehicle.

Violations Tab

Lists every eco-driving violation recorded by the selected vehicles during the period: hard acceleration, hard braking, hard cornering, high RPM, overspeeding, and idling.

Each row shows:

  • Vehicle: Which vehicle the violation occurred on
  • Driver / Key Identifier: The driver detected by the tracker's RFID/iButton reader at the time of the violation, when available. If the device never reported a key swipe, the vehicle's assigned driver (from Drivers) is shown instead — in that case, no Key Identifier is shown, since it wasn't confirmed by an actual key-swipe event.
  • Date/Time: When the violation occurred
  • Violation: The type of violation
  • Speed / Speed Tier: For overspeeding violations, the recorded speed and how far over the limit it was (1-5 / 6-10 / 11+ km/h), when the device reports a speed limit alongside the speed
  • Duration: How long the violation lasted, when reported (mainly relevant to idling)
  • Location: Where the violation occurred — click Show address to reverse-geocode the coordinates

If more than one vehicle (or a group) is selected, rows are grouped by vehicle — click the expand arrow to see individual violations. Click a row with a location to preview it on a map above the table.

Driving Periods Tab

Lists driving sessions grouped by driver rather than by vehicle, so you can see everything a specific driver did across whatever vehicles they used during the period.

Each row shows:

  • Driver / Key Identifier: Same driver-resolution logic as the Violations tab
  • Vehicle: Which vehicle was driven
  • Subdivision: The vehicle's assigned group, if any
  • Movement From / Movement To: Start and end time of the driving period
  • Duration: How long the period lasted
  • Mileage: Distance traveled during the period
  • Driving Info Source: Where the driving data came from (GPS tracker)

Exporting Reports

Use the dropdown menu next to the Show button:

  • Export: Download a single Excel file with one sheet per tab — Summary, Violations, and Driving Periods
  • Print: Open a print-friendly version of the Summary tab's table

Scheduling

Use the Schedule this report control next to the export button to have this report run automatically and emailed to chosen recipients — on desktop it's a calendar-icon button, on mobile/tablet it's inside a dropdown menu. It opens the Schedules page pre-filled with the vehicles, groups, and date range currently selected. Each scheduled run emails three CSV files, one per tab (Summary, Violations, Driving Periods). See Scheduled Reports for the full setup options (recurrence, recipients, etc.).

Use Cases

  • Driver Coaching: Identify drivers or vehicles with frequent harsh-driving violations
  • Fleet Safety Scoring: Compare eco-scores across vehicles to prioritize coaching or maintenance
  • Incident Investigation: Review violations for a specific vehicle and time, then cross-check against driving periods to confirm who was driving
  • Accountability: Attribute driving behavior to a specific driver even without RFID/iButton hardware, using the vehicle's assigned driver as a fallback

No Data Found

If the report shows no data:

  • Check that vehicles were active during the selected dates
  • Verify the correct vehicles or groups are selected
  • Ensure GPS devices are properly configured and syncing
  • For Points and any CAN-based sensor columns (Seatbelt, Headlights, etc.), confirm the corresponding sensor is configured for the vehicle under Sensors
