Stop Assignment

The Stops screen lets you assign specific bus stops to a passenger for a given route. Stops are displayed on an interactive map, and you can assign or remove them with a single tap.

Opening the Stops Screen

On the Passengers screen, tap the Stops button on a passenger card. The button is only enabled for verified passengers. The map opens full-screen with all available stops shown as numbered markers.

Map Layout

The Stops screen is a full-screen map with a control bar overlaid at the top:

  • Back arrow (top-left) — returns to the Passengers screen
  • Route selector (center, stretches to fill available width) — a dropdown that lists all routes assigned to the passenger. Each option shows the route name and, if applicable, the shift name and hours
  • GPS locate button (inside the right side of the route selector) — centers the map on your current location and suggests nearby routes
  • Timeline button (top-right, clock icon) — opens a bottom drawer showing the ordered stop list for the selected route

Stop Markers

Stops are shown as numbered map markers (1, 2, 3…) ordered by their position in the selected route:

  • Green border, white fill, black number — stop is not yet assigned to the passenger for this route
  • Solid green fill, white number — stop is assigned to the passenger for this route

A blue polyline connects the stops in order, showing the planned route path.

Selecting a Route

Use the route selector dropdown at the top to switch between routes. The map updates to show only the stops for the selected route. The markers re-number and the polyline redraws automatically.

GPS Route Suggestion

Tap the GPS icon inside the route selector to use your current location to find nearby routes:

  • If one route has stops within 1 km of you, it is selected automatically
  • If multiple routes have nearby stops, a Select Route drawer slides up from the bottom showing each option with the closest stop name, distance, and shift hours. Routes matching the current time of day are highlighted with a Now badge
  • Select the route and tap Select Route to confirm

Assigning or Removing a Stop

Tap any numbered stop marker on the map. A bottom drawer slides up showing:

  • Stop name (with order number prefix, e.g. "3. Central Park")
  • Description (if set by the organization)
  • Address
  • Route name
  • Shift name and hours (if the route has a shift)

At the bottom of the drawer:

  • If the stop is not assigned: tap the green Assign Stop button to add it to the passenger for the selected route
  • If the stop is already assigned: tap the red Remove Stop button to unassign it

The drawer closes automatically after saving, and the marker color updates to reflect the new state.

Timeline View

Tap the Timeline button (top-right) to open a drawer that lists all stops for the selected route in order. This shows the full route sequence and highlights which stops are assigned to the passenger.

Tips

  • You must select a route in the dropdown before tapping a stop — if no route is selected, you'll see a warning prompt
  • Stop assignments are per-route: the same stop can be assigned to the same passenger on different routes independently
  • Changes take effect immediately; there is no separate save step
