Push Notifications

Stay informed about your passengers' trips with real-time push notifications.

Enabling Notifications

First Time Setup

  1. When you first open NexaRide, you'll be asked to allow notifications
  2. Tap Allow to enable push notifications
  3. If you denied access, enable notifications in your device settings

Managing Preferences

  1. Go to AccountSettingsNotifications
  2. Toggle the notification types you want to receive

Notification Types

Trip Started

Get notified when a trip begins.

Example: "Trip started: Morning route to Central Office"

Stop Arrival

Get notified when the vehicle arrives at your passenger's stop.

Example: "Vehicle arrived at Main Street - Passenger: John"

Trip Completed

Know when the trip has ended.

Example: "Trip completed: Afternoon shuttle from Airport"

Route Changes

Stay informed about schedule or route updates.

Example: "Route updated: Departure time changed to 8:15 AM"

Master Toggle

The Push Notifications toggle controls all notifications:

  • ON: Receive the notification types you've enabled
  • OFF: No notifications will be sent

Choosing Notification Types

With push notifications enabled, select which types you want:

  1. Go to SettingsNotifications
  2. Toggle each notification type on or off
  3. Changes take effect immediately

Troubleshooting

Not Receiving Notifications?

  1. Check Device Permissions:
    • iOS: Settings → NexaRide → Notifications → Allow
    • Android: Settings → Apps → NexaRide → Notifications → Enable
  2. Check App Settings:
    • Verify push notifications are enabled
    • Check that specific types are toggled on
  3. Check Device Settings:
    • Turn off Do Not Disturb mode
    • Disable battery optimization for NexaRide (Android)
  4. Update the App:
    • Install the latest version from the app store

Too Many Notifications?

  • Disable notification types you don't need
  • Use the master toggle to temporarily silence all notifications
  • Stop Arrival: Always enable - know exactly when to be ready
  • Trip Started: Enable to track from the beginning
  • Trip Completed: Enable for peace of mind
  • Route Changes: Enable to stay informed of schedule updates
