Chart Report
The Chart Report creates interactive graphs showing how vehicle data changes over time. Use this to analyze trends, spot anomalies, and understand vehicle performance patterns.
Generating a Chart
- Select Vehicle: Choose a vehicle from the dropdown
- Select Chart Types: Choose one or more data attributes to visualize (you can compare multiple metrics)
- Choose Time Type: Select which timestamp to use for the X-axis
- Set Date Range: Define the time period to analyze
- Click Show to generate the chart
Available Data Types
Speed and Distance:
- Speed, Odometer, Trip Odometer
Location:
- Altitude, Accuracy, Course, Latitude, Longitude
Engine:
- RPM, Engine Hours, Throttle
Temperature:
- Coolant Temp, Engine Temp, Device Temp
Fuel:
- Fuel Level, Fuel Used, Fuel Consumption
Power:
- Power, Battery, Battery Level
GPS Quality:
- Satellites, Satellites Visible, HDOP, VDOP, PDOP
Other:
- Acceleration, RSSI, Humidity
Time Type Options
- Fix Time: When the GPS obtained the position
- Device Time: Timestamp from the device
- Server Time: When NexaBus received the data
Background Shading
Behind every chart line, the background is shaded using the same five vehicle states as the Timeline Report:
- Red (Park): The vehicle is stationary with the ignition off
- Green (Motion): The vehicle is in motion
- Yellow (Stop): The vehicle is stationary but the engine is running
- Dark (No GPS, ignition off): The device reported no GPS fix while the ignition was off
- Gray (No Data): No reports were received for longer than 6 hours
Click any of the five legend entries to hide or show that state's shading. For fuel charts, any fill or drain window detected on the line is always shaded as park, since refueling or draining can only happen while the vehicle is parked.
Interacting with Charts
The chart is interactive:
- Hover: See exact values at any point. For fuel charts, the popup also shows the fuel level in liters (if calibration is configured) and the noise-filtering window currently applied to the line.
- Zoom: Use the slider at the bottom to zoom into specific time ranges
- Pan: Drag to move along the timeline
- Multiple Lines: Compare different metrics by selecting multiple chart types
Printing
Click the print icon to print the current chart view for records or sharing.
Use Cases
- Speed Analysis: View speed patterns throughout a trip
- Fuel Monitoring: Track fuel level changes to detect consumption patterns or leaks
- Temperature Trends: Monitor engine or cargo temperature over time
- Performance Comparison: Overlay multiple metrics to find correlations
- Diagnostic Analysis: Investigate specific time periods for issues
No Data Found
If "No data found" appears:
- Check that the vehicle was active during the selected dates
- Verify the vehicle's GPS device reports the selected data types
- Some data types depend on specific sensors being installed
