Managing Routes

Routes define the sequence of stops that a vehicle follows. Each route is assigned to a client, shift, and vehicle. When you create a route, you select which stops to include and arrange them in order.

Viewing Routes

The Routes table displays the following columns:

  • ID: Unique identifier (hidden by default)
  • Name: Route name
  • Client: The organization this route belongs to
  • Shift: When this route operates
  • Start: Shift start time in HH:MM format
  • End: Shift end time in HH:MM format
  • Vehicle: The vehicle assigned to this route
  • Sync Status: Connection status with visual indicators

On mobile devices, some columns (Client, Start, End, Vehicle, Sync Status) are automatically hidden to optimize the display.

Searching for Routes

Use the search field to find routes. The search works across multiple fields including route name, client name, shift name, and vehicle name. Results update as you type.

Filtering by Client

Click the Client column header to open a dropdown filter. Select a specific client to show only routes belonging to that client, or select All Clients to view all routes. Your filter selection is preserved when navigating between pages.

If you are assigned to a specific client, you will only see routes for that client.

Customizing Columns

  1. Click the Columns button above the table.
  2. Check or uncheck columns to show or hide them.

Adding a Route

  1. Click the Add Route button.
  2. Complete the three tabs:

General Information Tab

  • Name (Required): A descriptive name for the route (e.g., "Morning School Run - North")
  • Client (Required): Select which client organization this route belongs to
  • Shift (Required): Select when this route operates (displays shift time in HH:MM format)
  • Vehicle: Assign a vehicle to this route (shows device name alongside vehicle name)

Managing Stops Tab

Build your route by selecting and ordering stops:

  1. Use the search field to filter stops by name in the Available Stops list.
  2. Drag stops from Available Stops (left) to Selected Stops (right).
  3. Selected stops display numbered badges (1, 2, 3...) indicating the visit order.
  4. Rearrange stops by dragging them within the Selected Stops list.
  5. Click the remove button on any selected stop to remove it from the route.

The order matters - the vehicle will visit stops in the sequence you define, from top to bottom.

Route Summary Tab

Review your route on an interactive map:

  • See all selected stops marked with numbered blue markers
  • Click any marker to view stop details: Name, Address, Description, and Radius
  • View the computed route path connecting all stops
  • See Total Distance in kilometers
  • See Estimated Duration for the route
  • Use the fullscreen button (bottom-right) for an expanded view
  • Click the print icon (top-left) to print the route map
  1. Click Create Route.

Editing a Route

  1. Find the route in the table.
  2. Click the actions menu (three dots) in that row.
  3. Select Edit.
  4. Update information in any of the three tabs.
  5. Click Update Route.

When you update a route, affected passengers will receive notifications about the changes.

Deleting a Route

  1. Find the route in the table.
  2. Click the actions menu (three dots) in that row.
  3. Select Delete.
  4. Confirm the deletion.

Warning: Deleting a route removes all passenger assignments to that route.

Understanding Sync Status

Routes sync with the NexaBus tracking server in real-time:

  • Syncing: Spinning icon indicates sync in progress (yellow)
  • Synced: Check icon confirms successful connection (green)
  • Failed: Error icon indicates sync failed - click Retry Sync to try again (red)

Sync status updates automatically without refreshing the page.

Pagination

The table displays 10 routes per page. Use the pagination controls at the bottom to navigate:

  • First and Last page buttons
  • Previous and Next page buttons
  • Current page indicator showing "Showing X to Y of Z"

Permissions

You need the appropriate permissions to add, edit, or delete routes. If these options are not visible, contact your administrator to request access.
