Notifications & Alerts

Overview

Notifications & Alerts let you decide exactly which events matter to your team and how you want to hear about them. A rule watches one event type across a set of vehicles (or drivers) and delivers an alert to chosen team members the moment it happens.

Key Features

Rule-Based Alerts

Create a rule for any event type, scope it to specific vehicles or drivers (or leave it open to your whole fleet), and choose who gets notified:

  • Fuel — Fuel Drain or Fuel Filling, detected from your fuel sensor data
  • Driver Safety — seatbelt not used, headlights not used, night driving, duty-hours violations, missing driver ID
  • Device Status — online/offline/unknown, inactive, or not reporting for longer than a configurable window
  • Movement — moving, stopped, or speed limit exceeded
  • Geofencing — entered or exited a zone
  • Engine — ignition on/off
  • Other — alarms (SOS, accident, tampering, harsh driving, and more), maintenance due, driver changed, and command results

Multiple Delivery Channels

Combine any of three channels on a single rule: in-app notifications, email to chosen recipients, and a map popup that flashes at the vehicle's marker while someone is watching the live Tracking page.

Real-Time or Near Real-Time

Device and vehicle-activity events are delivered the moment your GPS platform reports them. Fuel and driver-safety events run on a short periodic sweep (a few minutes at most); device-silence checks run every 30 minutes.

Notification History

Every alert that's been sent is kept in a searchable history, with read/unread tracking and one-click jumps straight to the relevant report — a fuel alert opens the Fuel Report already scoped to that vehicle and day, for example.

Benefits

  • No Noise: Scope rules to exactly the vehicles, drivers, and channels each team member needs
  • Catch Problems Early: Fuel drains, safety violations, and geofence breaches surface within minutes
  • One Alert, Not Five: Overlapping rules for the same event still produce a single notification, not a flood
  • Full Audit Trail: Every notification sent is kept in history, searchable and exportable by report

Why NexaBus Notifications

A fleet generates hundreds of events a day — most of them noise. NexaBus lets you define precisely which events are worth an alert, who should see them, and how, so the events that matter never get lost in the ones that don't.
